It’s my first time to cook Chicken Masala, believe me, I’ve never done this in normal servings of food, I just tried to cook this (in my miniature kitchen) since I have lot’s of Indian friends who’s following my Youtube channel and I want to thank you guys for supporting and loving my channel. When I do research, there’s a lot of way or different ways of cooking Chicken Masala and honestly I don’t know which one should I follow but there’s a common denominator, they cook the masala in yogurt and different spices. So, please don’t judge me, if you have different way of cooking chicken masala, kindly let me know and I will try to follow.
If you’re going to ask how was the taste. When we tasted it, I would definitely recommend this recipe and I surely will make a normal version of it. I salute the Indian cuisine, you have a superb spices that you should be proud of.
Here’s the recipe;
First I marinated the chicken in; cayenne, cinnamon, white pepper, cumin, tomato sauce by the way I wasn’t able to find tomato puree and I think the tomato sauce is good alternative. Masala paste, yogurt, I also substituted the Lemon to Calamansi.
You also need the following for sautéing.
- Clarified butter
- Marinated chicken
- Fresh tomato
- Tomato sauce
- Cilantro for garnish.
To God Be All The Glory!
My first episode in Miniature Cusina’s Youtube channel is Pork giniling or Picadillo, that episode inspires me to make more videos and to share it to you. This recipe is moderate easy but it would consume your time in preparation if you don’t have vegetable chopper. Because you need to chop the ingredients in tiny pieces, a lot of work but I can assure you that this recipe is perfect viand in rice.
You can also do this in a normal size of servings 🙂
- Cooking oil
- Minced chicken (you can buy ground meat in supermarket or you can use chopper)
- Tomato paste
- Tomato sauce
- Fish sauce
- Baby potato
You can buy baby potato in super market, for the miniature carrot I took the tip part of the carrot and shape it using the kitchen knife.

What is shawarma?
Shawarma is originated in Middle east, it is cooked with stacked meats- like beef, lamb, turkey, and chicken it is marinated in different spices that gives strong aroma and mouthwatering snack.
I’ve been craving for shawarma but I don’t want to eat oily food, that’s why I’ve tried to make Chicken shawarma for my lunch. but since I don’t have vertical burner, I fry it on cast iron and surprisingly this healthy version is delicious as beef shawarma.
Since I already have ingredients I’ve decided to make miniature version.
The preparation is the same with normal size of shawarma but I can not give the exact amount of ingredients.
- 3 miniature chicken breast (I took the last part of the chicken breast because it is easy to make it look mini)
- Olive oil (I use this oil because it has an antioxidant property)
- Brown sugar.
- Spices: paprika, cayenne, cinnamon, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder
- Whole wheat pita; I use 2 inch (diameter) round cutter to make it miniature.
- Cherry tomato

Some of you wondering why I do make these weird stuff. I love making miniature edible food because it makes me relax. It was a dream come true, when I was a child I dreamed of having a functional toy kitchen where I could cook real food. Doing this weird thing it’s like a time machine it brings me back to the past.
